Program
Just like children, young horses thrive with early education. The Equine Elementary Program, LLC (EEP) goes beyond basic haltering and leading: We desensitize horses to common ranch tasks, promote athletic movement and rider sensitivity, and teach them to respond rather than react—building confidence, work ethic, and responsiveness for safer, more willing partners in any discipline. EEP is a stepwise, methodical approach to horse training based on natural horsemanship principles that we all believe in and employ.
Founded over 25 years ago by Fran Hancock with yearlings from the Gray Ranch, EEP has evolved into a trusted program backed by decades of experience. Today, Fran is joined by Stacy Verret, Caitlyn Dionne, and Josie Ogea, bringing over 75 years of combined horsemanship expertise and a commitment to respectful, natural training.
Horses that complete the program are better prepared for colt starting, easier to handle and doctor, and more marketable—whether they’re heading into training or being sold.
Training spots are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, with facilities currently located in Lake Charles, Grand Lake, and Ragley. Trainer requests are welcome, though they may affect availability.
